Galmudug President defends extension of his term

Galmudug (Alshahid) – President of Galmudug regional administration Mohamed Ahmed Alim has on Saturday strongly defended his extension of his term following complaints from local MP’s terming his action as illegal.

The president told reporters that the extension was agreed after government mediated talks that brought Galmudug disputes to an end

“The extension is legal and was clearly agreed under the government mediated talks in Mogadishu and I hope no one has the right to question the legality of the process.” He said

Mps announced his extended his term for three more years, a move described by some as illegal.

The president finally called upon the local people to contribute peace and stability of Galmudug
