Garowe (Alshahid) – At least 10 members of transitional federal parliament of Somalia on Monday afternoon started mediation talks with the top leaders of the semi autonomous Somali region of Puntland in Garowe, the headquarters of Puntland.
The MPs who are themselves from that region flew from Mogadishu to Garowe in an effort to mediate between the top leaders of the TFG and those of Puntland. The MPs had a closed door meeting with Puntland’s president Mr. Abdirahman Faroole and his cabinate on how to have an agreement with the TFG leaders.
The row between the TFG and Puntland is based on how Puntland could sign deals with multinational companies with seeking the consent of the TFG leadership. There was an earlier effort meant to solve the disputes between the two which took place in Nairobi but it all ended in vain.
