Al Shabaab captures military post near Kismayo

The armed group Al Shabaab has captured a military post near the Somali port city of Kismayo.

Eyewitness have reported heavy exchange of fire last night before the capture of the base by Al Shabaab fighters.

According to security Sources at least seven Somali troops were killed during the fighting.

Witness who spoke on condition of anonymity to Universal TV has narrated how Al Shabaab fighters ambushed the military base on Sunday night.

Al Shabaab also said its fighters overrun troops near Kismayo military base after bloody encounter.

The group which vowed to intensify attacks during holy month of Ramadan has so far carried out ten attacks mainly in south and central Somalia.
