Mustafa Duhulow, information minister of Somalia addressed the media in Mogadishu on Saturday, providing an update on the progress of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) over the last week.
The Minister provided details on Scholarships to Somali students which many students will get educational chance. Minister of Information began by informing on how students could obtain scholarships, saying, “Ministry of Higher Education published this week the process in awarding scholarships abroad to Somali students.
He adeed, “An Independent committee composed of civil society groups and in particular experts on education was set up to award students according to their academic achievements”. Information minister has informed all interested students to prepare themselves to the exam.
He said, “All interested students will have to take an exam and those with highest marks will be awarded to scholarships”.
Mustafa Duhulow, information minister of Somalia said, “The Federal Government is committed that the process be perceived and seen as transparent and accountable”.
He pointed the countreis granted scholarships as, “Our allies and friends grant scholarships to Somali students, such as Sudan, Yemen, Egypt, China, India and Russia”.
He finally thanked them and asked other countries to follow suit, as education is very important to the peace-building of the country.
