Somalia: Uganda Opens Embassy in Mogadishu
Both Mugisha and Turyamuhika, were appointed to run the Ugandan commission in a Cabinet reshuffle in August in 2012.
Somalia is relatively peaceful following the annihilation of Al Shabaab insurgents in Mogadishu and other strategic towns.
Several western countries including United States and UK have since been in talks with President Mohamed on supporting post-war recovery programmes.
He says Uganda now looks at strengthening political ties with the Mogadishu government to consolidate security gains and benefit economically.
Shortly after the election of Mohammud, Kenya’s foreign ministers led a delegation of businessmen from Nairobi to acquaint them with the new government.
