Somali President calls on expatriate community to invest in peace.
Mogadishu (Alshahid) – Somali President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed has called on Somali community in Diaspora to invest in peace and reconstruction of the country which has been ravaged by decades of civil war and foreign interventions.
Speaking at ceremony in his villa Somalia where conflict between Galmudug state leaders was formally ended, Somali president called expatriate communities to do everything possible to help peace and reconciliation in Somalia.
“Those who fled Somalia due to the instability must not contribute to the insecurity in Somalia, rather, they should invest in peace and reconstruction” said the Somali president.
The president warned that the formation of more regional administrations may contribute more problems regarding regional border lines.
He pointed out that national unity is far more important than clan based regional administrations.
The president called Galmudug leaders who ended their feud by compromise to rebuild the region and solve any potential misunderstanding through dialogue.
