Two Islamist factions fight in Somalia.
Mogadishu (Alshahid)—Two Somali Islamic rebel groups’ of Hizbul Islam and Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a have reportedly fought near Beledweyne town in Hiraan region in central Somalia, officials said on Sunday.
The fight broke out after fighters from Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a attacked bases of Hizbul Islam in the area.

The two sides have exchanged heavy gun fire and mortars in the area.
Mr. Moallin Farah Daud, one of Hizbul Islam’s officials confirmed that their base was attacked and added that they fought back to defend themselves and four of their fighters were wounded in the fight.
