Somali intend to play a host of friendlies with local teams in Kampala as they build up to the upcoming Tusker Cecafa Cup.

The Ocean Stars, as the national football team are called, have lined up three friendly matches to that effect.

According to the Somali assistant communications officer, Ssemugenyi Abdu Sulaiman, the first friendly is against Big League side Baza Holdings on Friday at the Namboole outside pitch.

They will then twice face SC Villa on Sunday and Monday at the outer Namboole pitch and Nakivubo Stadium respectively.

“The last two players from Canada and US will jet in tomorrow (Tuesday) and these trial games will give the coaches a better selection of the real team to face others throughout the tournament,” said Abdu Sulaiman.

Somalia arrived in Kampala, the hosts of this year’s tournament, two weeks early and train every day at Namboole in the morning and evening.
