Sport stars turn out to support Mo Farah’s charity
The Night of Champions in aid of the Mo Farah Foundation saw silent and live auctions held to raise money for the organisation, which distributes family food baskets containing rice, maize, wheat, flour, milk, sugar, beans, oil and other essentials to help thousands of people in Somalia.
Among the athletic stars turning out to support Mo was North East Olympic legend Steve Cram who attended the event at the Grosvenor House Hotel in central London last night.
Also in attendance was Middlesbrough singer and X Factor finalist Amelia Lily who was asked to perform at the event.
Ahead of her performance, Amelia took to her Twitter page to tell her fans of her excitement about being asked to take to the stage at the charity ball.
She tweeted: “Such an honour to be performing at the Mo Farahs foundation this evening x”
Earlier on in the night she shared a picture of herself with Mo Farah on Twitter and captioned it, “Frickin Mo Farah! #legend”
Also showing their support at the ball was Sir Steve Redgrave, Colin Jackson, Patrick Viera and Kolo Toure.
The Mo Farah Foundation helps to provide life-saving aid to some of the millions of people facing starvation and disease. It also helps provide clean water, sanitation and medical treatment.
