Several injured in grenade attack in Wajir
Wajir (Alshahid)-At least five people were seriously injured in the latest grenade attacks in Wajir town, northeastern Kenya on Wednesday evening, police said.
The grenades were hurled at a restaurant and a barbershop. No deaths have been reported.
“We still don’t know the people behind this incident but it is still early to speculate,” Divisional police commander James Mutungi said.
Kenya has been hit by a series of grenade and bomb blasts since its troops crossed into Somalia in October to fight Alshabab militants.
Nairobi has blamed the attacks on Alshabab. The attackers have targeted Kenya’s northeast, the capital and the port city of Mombasa, threatening the country’s lucrative tourism sector,
