Tripoli (Alshahid) – Libyan leader and Somali President met Tuesday evening to discuss the latest developments in Somalia.
The government agency said yesterday that the Somali president made during the meeting “a comprehensive overview on the latest political and security situation in Somalia.”
Sheikh Sharif renewed emphasis “on the importance of the role of the leader in establishing security and ensure stability in Somalia”, in the words of the Agency.
Libyan leader pledged “to do more political support and security to the Somali government from his patronage and lasting peace and security in the Sub Sahara”.
The transitional government headed by sheikh Sharif was elected last January and has faced unprecedented attack claimed by Islamic rebels belonging to the youth movement and the Hizbul Islam in an attempt to topple the government.
