Mogadishu (Alshahid) –Somalia’s Transitional Federal Government (TFG) president Sheikh Sharif Sheik Ahmed has congratulated his colleague, Yoweri Museveni on his resounding reelection for another term as president of Uganda.

The Somali president said the people of Uganda have expressed their confidence in their new leadership of Yoweri Museveni by handing him a landslide win for second five years’ term.

“On behalf of Somali government and community, I present warm congratulation for your new re-election as Uganda president” President Sheikh Sharif said in a statement.

President Sheikh also expressed confidence on the growing and strong relationship of brotherhood between the two countries which has been of benefit to the people of Somalia.

Uganda has a large number of troops contribute to the African Union Mission in Somali (AMISOM) now offering buffer for the internationally backed TFG government.

Other heads of state who have sent their congratulatory messages include President Mwai Kibaki of Kenya.
