Somali government reopens Martini hospital to the public

Mogadishu (Alshahid)-Somali Transitional Federal Government has on Monday reopened Martini hospital that has been closed after the collapse of the central government 20 years ago.

Dr. Adam Haji Ibrahim the Minister of health said the ministry of health doctors who will operate in the hospital were fully prepared and would begin from today when the hospital opens to the public.

Accompanying the Minister of Health during the opening ceremony was the Deputy PM and Minister of Defense A/hakim Mohamu Haji Fiki.

The Deputy Pm praised the efforts of the Health Ministry saying the facility would benefit Somali people especially the poor who cannot afford private medical services.

The deputy PM added that the government had purchased and ordered for high quality medical supplies.

The Transition federal government (TFG) which had been blamed by its international backers as slow and inefficient in improving Transition federal Institutions has put more efforts in reviving stalled projects before end of its term slated for August.
