Hizbul Islam faction ends agreement with Somalia govt
Mogadishu (Alshahid) – Sheik Yusuf Mohamed Siad (Inda’adde), former state minister of the transitional government (TFG) of Somalia and now a leader of Hizbul Islam faction that recently joined the TFG has Wednesday held a press conference to formally denounce the deal signed with the government.
“As troops and policy, we are no longer members of the Somali government, because the government had refused the agreement between us. We confirm that we are independent from the government,” said Sheik Yusuf Mohamed Siad
The Hizbul Islam faction leader Sheik Yusuf said that he had had a meeting with both the speaker of the parliament Sharif Hassan Sheik Aden with the Somalia president; but the president flatly opposed the deal.
“The government of Farmajo is not better than the government of Omar Abdirashid Sharma’arke and every one knows that neighborhoods under the control of the government are on the verge of the rivals’ seizure,” added Sheik Yusuf
The faction officials said the transitional government is deeply involved in corruption.
The group revealed that it was recently involved in the latest clashes in Galgudud region in central Somalia and asked the international community to support their fight against Al-shabab and Hizbul Islam rebel groups.
