Ethiopian troops deployed in Hiraan region

Ethiopian-troopsMogadishu (Alshahid) — Ethiopian troops have been deployed in Janta Kundisho area about 15 km east of Beldewyne town, the provincial capital of Hiraan region in central Somalia, witnesses said on Wednesday.

Reports say the Ethiopian troops left from Ugas Kalif airport of Beldeweyne early on Wednesday and were deployed in Janta Kundisho, where they have reportedly made defensive trenches.

People in Beledwyne have expressed concern about the Ethiopian troops who were deployed near their city.

Ethiopian troops entered in Beledweyne on Friday after Islamist rebels took control of the western part of Beledweyne.

A government official in Beldweyne confirmed the presence of the Ethiopian troops in Hiraan region.

The move comes as the government officials in Beledwyne vowed Wednesday they would fight the Islamist rebels in the western part of the town

Ethiopia denied that its troops re-entered in Somalia but it admitted that the troops came in Somalia for reconnaissance missions.

Somali parliament speaker Sheik Aden Madobe said he did not aware of the troop movement of the Ethiopian troops in the country.
